Tuft’n Up Studio & Social isn’t just a place, it’s a creative movement built on the belief that everyone deserves a space to explore their imagination, express themselves, and simply have fun. What began as a mobile tufting pop-up, introducing people to the magic of rug making, has evolved into a vibrant 2,000-square-foot studio nestled in the heart of the Hyattsville Arts District.
We’re proud to be a community-rooted space that invites kids, teens, adults, and entire families to experience the joy of hands-on creation. Whether you're celebrating a milestone, looking for a unique date night, or simply want to try something new, Tuft’n Up offers something special.
At the core of everything we do is our commitment to accessibility, joy, and expression. You don’t need to be an artist to feel at home here—you just need a willingness to try something new. Every workshop, event, and gathering is designed to spark connection: with your creativity, with the people around you, and with the playful side of yourself that’s been waiting for a moment to shine.

Meet Dominyece Gregory — Founder. Creative. Community Catalyst.
Dominyece Gregory is the visionary behind Tuft’n Up Studio & Social, a multi-passionate creative with a heart for people and a talent for turning big ideas into meaningful experiences. With a background in youth development, community organizing, visual arts, and event planning, Dominyece brings a unique blend of structure and spontaneity to everything she touches.
Her tufting journey started as a personal creative outlet—something fun to do during a season of change. But what began with a tufting gun and a blank canvas quickly transformed into a calling: to create a space where joy, creativity, and community come together in unforgettable ways.
As a Black woman and creative entrepreneur, Dominyece also saw a need for more inclusive, accessible spaces in the arts. Tuft’n Up is her answer to that call—a safe, colorful, and welcoming environment where people of all backgrounds feel free to explore and express who they are.
She believes that everyone has a creative spark, and she’s on a mission to help you find it. Whether she’s guiding a tufting workshop, hosting a themed event, or dreaming up what’s next, Dominyece leads with purpose, passion, and the unshakable belief that community is where magic happens.
